A new tourism and hospitality college will open in 2016 within the Queenstown Resort College (QRC), a relevant tourism and hospitality management education provider in New Zealand. The Tai Tokerau Resort College – this the name of the new branch – will start its educational activities in Paihia, Northland region, with four student intakes per year with additional financial support from NZ Māori Tourism.
KEY PARTNERSHIP TO RECEIVE CHINESE STUDENTS - Studies highlighted that tourism will be a significant contributor to lifting the region’s economy, “$128 million each year, while employing around 3,000 people,” according to Economic Development Minister, Steven Joyce. It is also noteworthy that the college partnered with Chinese company Shanghai CRED (real estate) and this not only will ensure a consistent supply of Chinese students, but will also benefit local youth – mainly Māori – with reduced tuition fees. The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) has yet approved the new school, which will be eligible for tuition funding, student loan and allowances funding.
THE EDUCATIONAL MODEL - The didactic plan of the new institution will alternate college study and paid work with on-site training, an approach that has proven successful at QRC’s Queenstown campus, “with high pass rates and successful outcomes, closely matched by very high employment rates on graduation,” according to Louise Upston, Associate Minister for Tertiary Education.

Pot , China Bistro From our location we have easy access to main highways to take you to Banff National Park, or the Royal Tyrrell Museum, an excellent Dinosaur museum. Candlewood Suites is an excellent location with cooking facilities which provides a great home base as you travel to various attractions in the area.
