Shanghai will see today the beginning of the 17th edition of "Food & Hospitality China", the main international fair concerning the agribusiness from abroad in China. 1,500 exhibiting companies from 70 countries and regions will attend the fair and, last year, the pavilions have been walked through by 30,156 registered buyers from all across China. Along the years, the fair proved itself as one of the best opportunities to raise Western companies’ profiles in the country, maintain and develop distribution channels and get to know the local market. Among the hosted regions there will be Piedmont, a territory located in north-western Italy which is famous for several food and wine delicacies. Its main city is Turin, famed worldwide for being the hometown of Fiat, the renowned car factory that recently entered the Us market in alliance with Chrysler. The historical and main offices and factories of the firm, like Lingotto and Mirafiori, lies in and around Turin. The city is also known for its characteristic Baroque architectural style and for the shopping options offered to the leisure market. At the end of October, Tourism Council representatives from Turin visited Tianjin Dongjiang Free Trade Zone to strengthen economic and cultural ties in view of the incoming Expo 2015, which will be hosted by Italy. At that time, the city will try to share with Milan the large quantity of Chinese tourists and businessmen. Today, five food firms from Piedmont will attend "Food & Hospitality China" to present their finest production to Chinese buyers. Three other firms from the same region will join “ProWine China”, a simultaneous exhibition focused on wine. Italy has been the country with the highest number of exhibitors at last year’s fair. From the 18th of November Piedmont will also attend “Food & Hospitality West China” in Chengdu. "Food & Hospitality China" is held at the New International Expo Center (SNIEC) in Shanghai.
