Chengdu China Chinese outbound tourism Chongqing CITE Welcome Chinese
Chengdu and Chongqing were the last main urban centers visited by Welcome Chinese on its 2015 schedule of road shows and sales calls. The Chengdu International Tourism Expo (CITE, December 3-5), a fair with decisive governmental support, saw the participation of more than 300 exhibitors (nearly half from overseas), 400 buyers and 4,000 trade visitors. Mrs. June Cao, Brand Manager at Welcome Chinese, addressed the audience with a speech introducing the Welcome Chinese Program.
As it is common practice in China, visitors to the company’s booth did not limit their interest in printed material, i.e. brochures and leaflets. They opted to get in touch immediately by scanning the QR code and joining Welcome Chinese on WeChat; this allowed them to start following the activities and news of the firm right away.
Mrs. Cao also worked with Mrs. Qiao Chen, Sales Manager, to organize a sales call with selected travel agencies and operators from the Chengdu area before CITE began. Those present included U Tour, Bamboo Garden Chengdu, ETI Chengdu, Phoenix Travel Chengdu, New Planet Tour and Sichuan China Travel. Chengdu, the capital of the province of Sichuan, has a population of 15 million, while Sichuan province boasts more than 80 million inhabitants.
On November 30 and December 1, another sales call was organized for tourism operators in Chongqing, a 2nd tier city like Chengdu. The city is currently undergoing an exuberant growth, fully invested by developmental policies led by the Chinese government. The local branch of CTS, plus CCT Chongqing / SlowLook, Chongqing New Trunk Travel and the local branch of Bamboo Garden were present.
During 2015 Welcome Chinese undertook a series of road shows, sales calls and participation in international travel fairs all over China. The 19 scheduled stopovers moved from the main markets of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, passing through the northeast and southwest “corners” of Harbin and Kunming respectively and through the vastness of Central China, not to mention high-level presentations in Lisbon and Abu Dhabi.
Feel free to contact Mrs. Cao and Mrs. Chen to learn more about 2016’s schedule. The goal of Welcome Chinese is to travel China in depth, introducing its certified clients – hotels, airports, railway companies, shopping malls, amusement parks, museums – to the widest possible audience throughout China.
