Proper greeting and care of Chinese travelers is a serious matter, involving a cultural understanding that goes beyond standard phrases learnt by heart. To actively support our partners in their China-oriented business, training courses on Lobster Ink are available for all certified members.

LOBSTER INK is a leading hospitality learning platform that includes a vast set of videos concerning the greeting of Chinese guests. We partnered with it as part of the Certification, The Introduction course is included in the Certification, and all other courses are available at a very special price.

IN-DEPTH LEARNING - Lobster Ink uses detailed, high-definition video content that is streamed to desktops, laptops, mobiles and tablet devices. The platform is designed to teach by explaining the “why” behind the “how”-- understanding why products are made in certain ways and why procedures are in place to allow for greater recall of content, as well as more efficient behavioral changes. The platform draws from an in-depth product and procedural knowledge base to create courses that allow staff to take charge of their own development.

THE COURSES: Lobster Ink’s courses are organized in four different categories:
- Introduction (to the Chinese traveler)
- Food and Beverage
- Front Office
- Housekeeping

To access the platform and to unblock the three remaining courses, please contact the reference person for your area at Welcome Chinese. If you are not sure who is your reference person, just drop us an email at

We at the Candlewood Suites Calgary Airport North, closely located to the Calgary airport YYC, have been certified by the China Tourism Academy as having reached the JADE STANDARD of "Welcome Chinese" Certification. As such we greet each guest with a special Welcome envelope with Chinese information on our extended stay hotel. Guests receive slippers, tea, and have access to kettles and rice cookers at no charge. Some items are available in our little convenience store called The Cupboard, and there is a Chinese Super Market about 2 kilometers away which has a full selection of food items, commonly found in China, including live fish. Also at the same shopping area, an authentic Chinese Restaurant called The T. Pot , China Bistro From our location we have easy access to main highways to take you to Banff National Park, or the Royal Tyrrell Museum, an excellent Dinosaur museum. Candlewood Suites is an excellent location with cooking facilities which provides a great home base as you travel to various attractions in the area.
