It was just before New Year’s Eve when Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg received the Welcome Chinese Certification. The hub – one of the largest airports in Russia and Eastern Europe – applied for the prestigious recognition in order to upgrade its level of services towards the mounting wave of Chinese travelers.
Pulkovo Airport has introduced the possibility to pay services and shops with UnionPay credit cards (the sole cards issued in China), installed free Wi-Fi, enabled a Chinese version of the website, added hot water dispensers inside the terminal and begun displaying flight information in Mandarin.
On its end, Welcome Chinese translated the menus of the airport’s restaurants into Mandarin; in addition, a dedicated profile on Weibo and Wechat will soon be activated and managed by our native Mandarin staff in Shanghai, in close connection with Pulkovo’s marketing officers. Furthermore, the hub will be profiled within the website of Qunar, a leading online travel agency in China with millions of active users.
All services are included in the package that Welcome Chinese has created for the certification of airports. Contact our team to learn more at email@example.com.
