According to a survey by the media company Travelzoo, it is critical that those in the travel industry ensure they have a polished app for Chinese consumers. This research, originating from interviews with 6,000 of the company’s members from Asia, Europe, and North America, makes clear that 70% of Chinese respondents said they plan to use a travel app to prepare for a holiday in the future.

THE EASIEST WAY TO BOOK - Considering that more than 167 million consumers used their phones to browse travel sites or apps in 2015, 85% of Travelzoo’s Chinese clients said using an app was “the easiest” way to book tour packages, cruises, flights and other forms of travel. Of course, a good travel app in Mandarin should be associated with a web page, also properly developed in the same language.

THE BASIS FOR GOOD REVIEWS - Massive posting of online reviews by Chinese travelers means that review sites are becoming the top resource Chinese consider when making the final call on a trip itinerary. Therefore, the quality of the information available in Mandarin, together with high visibility of various services designed with Chinese travelers in mind, will be even more significant in the future.

We at the Candlewood Suites Calgary Airport North, closely located to the Calgary airport YYC, have been certified by the China Tourism Academy as having reached the JADE STANDARD of "Welcome Chinese" Certification. As such we greet each guest with a special Welcome envelope with Chinese information on our extended stay hotel. Guests receive slippers, tea, and have access to kettles and rice cookers at no charge. Some items are available in our little convenience store called The Cupboard, and there is a Chinese Super Market about 2 kilometers away which has a full selection of food items, commonly found in China, including live fish. Also at the same shopping area, an authentic Chinese Restaurant called The T. Pot , China Bistro From our location we have easy access to main highways to take you to Banff National Park, or the Royal Tyrrell Museum, an excellent Dinosaur museum. Candlewood Suites is an excellent location with cooking facilities which provides a great home base as you travel to various attractions in the area.
